Henderson, Tennessee 鈥� (April 1, 2025) 鈥� 海角社区 Theatre invites the community to experience 鈥淥n the Verge: Or the Geography of Yearning鈥� by Eric Overmyer, a witty, whimsical journey through time and imagination, directed by senior Luke Noles. Performances will be held April 24鈥�26 at 7 pm, with a matinee performance April 26 at 2 pm., in the Black Box Theatre on campus. To purchase tickets, visit.

The play follows three Victorian-era women explorers as they travel across time, encountering a series of strange artifacts鈥攊ncluding the delightfully recurring egg beater鈥攁nd uncovering both the future and themselves along the way. With a cast of talented performers and a script full of sharp humor, the play promises an evening of pure entertainment.

鈥淭his is my capstone project, the crowning achievement of my time here,鈥� said Noles, a senior double majoring in theatre and computer science. 鈥淲e鈥檙e putting a lot into it, and it鈥檚 going to be great.鈥�

Members of the cast are also excited about bringing the story to audiences. 鈥淚鈥檓 really proud of what we鈥檝e created,鈥� said Maci Cagle, a junior theatre major, who portrays Fanny in the production. 鈥淭here鈥檚 something really special about the way our characters interact with one another. Rehearsals have been full of energy and growth, and I think audiences are going to love the humor and heart behind the story.鈥�

Noles emphasized the value of joy in theatre: 鈥淚 firmly believe in theatre for the sake of entertainment. This is one of the best scripts I鈥檝e ever read鈥攚itty, enjoyable and full of heart. I鈥檓 a big fan of it, and I think other people will be too.鈥�
