海角社区 PTA Program Achieves 100% Licensure Exam Pass Rate
February 6, 2025
Henderson, Tennessee 鈥 (Feb. 6, 2025) 鈥 海角社区鈥檚 Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program has achieved a 100% first-time pass rate for the 2024 graduating class on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE), marking a two-year 100% ultimate pass rate for the program. Applications to begin the program in August 2025 are currently being accepted through March 31, 2025.
Ashley Prentice, PTA Program Director, attributes this success to the program鈥檚 commitment to academic excellence, hands-on preparation and a supportive learning environment. 鈥淥ur faculty works diligently to ensure that students are fully prepared to sit for their licensure exam upon graduation,鈥 Prentice said. 鈥淏y centering our curriculum on evidence-based practices and staying current with physical therapy education trends, we equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. The program also provides board-prep review courses and an in-person NPTE review at the start of their final semester to further support exam readiness.鈥
Recent graduate Chase Daniel echoed this sentiment, crediting the program鈥檚 structure and faculty support for his success. 鈥満=巧缜檚 PTA program provided an outstanding foundation for success on the board exam,鈥 Daniel said. 鈥淭he faculty鈥檚 dedication, small class sizes and hands-on learning opportunities truly set this program apart. Intensive lab sessions, clinical rotations and board review courses gave me confidence heading into the exam. By the time I sat for it, I felt well-prepared because I had already encountered many of the scenarios in clinical settings. That level of preparation made a significant difference, and I believe it鈥檚 a key reason why our class achieved a 100% pass rate.鈥
Daniel also emphasized the faculty鈥檚 commitment to student success, noting how Prentice and Brian Vaughn, PTA Director of Clinical Education, provided one-on-one guidance, shared personal experiences and ensured students had access to additional resources whenever needed.
FHU鈥檚 PTA program maintains rigorous academic and clinical standards, requiring students to meet higher-than-average grading benchmarks throughout their coursework. This ensures graduates are well-prepared not only for the licensure exam but also for their careers as skilled and compassionate clinicians.
鈥淥ur students often tell us that our program is more challenging than some four-year degrees, but they also express gratitude for the support they receive along the way,鈥 Prentice added. 鈥淭he small class sizes at FHU allow us to build professional relationships with our students, fostering an environment where they feel supported, encouraged and well-prepared to enter the workforce.鈥
Beyond academics, Daniel noted that FHU鈥檚 Christ-centered environment played a vital role in his educational journey. 鈥淭he faculty not only challenged us to be excellent PTAs but also encouraged us to approach our careers with compassion, integrity and a servant鈥檚 heart,鈥 Daniel said. 鈥淚鈥檓 incredibly grateful for the education I received at FHU and am confident that this program produces knowledgeable, compassionate and highly skilled PTAs who are ready to make a difference in the field.鈥
