FHU’s Golden Year Reunion to Celebrate the “Spirit of ’76”

FHU Alumni gather together to remember their time together at the University as part of the Golden Year Reunion

HENDERSON, Tenn. — (May 13, 2026) — Freed-Hardeman alumni from the classes of 1976 and earlier are invited to return to campus for the annual Golden Year Reunion, June 10-12. Hosted by the Office of Alumni Engagement, the three-day event will celebrate the first four-year graduating class in Freed-Hardeman’s history, known as the “Spirit of ’76.”

“This year’s reunion carries special significance as we celebrate the Spirit of ’76 and welcome Freed-Hardeman’s first four-year graduating class,” said Chris Ramey, director of alumni engagement. “Just as our nation marked its 200th anniversary in 1976 by reflecting on its beginnings and looking ahead with hope, we gather to honor a milestone moment in the history of our university and the alumni who helped shape its future.”

Alumni who arrive early may take part in an optional day trip to Memphis Wednesday, June 10. The excursion includes a visit to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, featuring an audio-guided tour of the mansion and exhibits, a stop at the Meditation Garden and a Memphis-style barbecue lunch at Vernon’s Smokehouse.

Back on campus, attendees will reconnect with classmates in Old Main, worship together in Chapel Hall and spend time with Freed-Hardeman’s new president, Dr. Keith Harris, and his wife, Lindsey, as they share updates on the university’s continued commitment to Christ-centered, student-focused education. Additional activities include campus tours, a lecture on biblical archaeology, class receptions, memory sessions, times of singing together and an evening of special entertainment.

While the reunion will recognize milestone classes from 1976, 1971, 1966, 1961, 1956 and 1951, all alumni from 1976 and earlier are invited to attend. To register, submit a memory form or view the full schedule, visit fhu.edu/GYR or contact Chris Ramey at 731-989-6088.
