FHU’s Alpha Chi Honor Society Inducts 14 Student Scholars

The Tennessee Iota Chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society welcomed 14 new student members during an induction ceremony held Monday, March 16, 2026, in Chapel Hall on the campus of 海角社区.

New inductees include Sydney Blewett, Raedia Duperron, Jacob Farber, Macey Gardner, Sara Hunt, Emma Grace Johnson, Eden Larue, Lexi Lewis, Daniel Puckett, Ammie Spellings, Nathan Stanford, Emily Taylor, Cade Thompson and Gabriel Yaeger. In addition to being new members of Alpha Chi, the new inductees also share the same grade point average 鈥 an impressive 4.0. The minimum grade point average required for membership is 3.75.

Alpha Chi, a national honor society that recognizes academic excellence across all disciplines, selects juniors and seniors from the top 10% of their class. Membership reflects not only strong academic performance but also a commitment to leadership, service and continued intellectual growth.

For many of the new members, the honor represents both recognition of past work and anticipation for future opportunities. Lexi Lewis, a junior from Valdosta, Georgia, said she is especially excited about the opportunities ahead through Alpha Chi. 鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to participating in service projects and applying for the scholarship,鈥 Lewis said. In addition to her academic achievements, Lewis is a member of Phi Kappa Alpha and participates in Makin鈥 Music.

Her mother, Camille Lewis, expressed confidence in her daughter鈥檚 experience at Freed-Hardeman. 鈥淚 love it here at FHU,鈥 she said. 鈥淪he鈥檚 being challenged here, and I feel good knowing that she鈥檚 on this campus.鈥

Sophomore Gabriel Yaeger also sees Alpha Chi as a platform for growth and service. A member of Chi Beta Chi and the Makin鈥 Music cast, Yaeger plans to pursue medical school with the goal of working in behavioral pediatrics. He said he looks forward to contributing to Alpha Chi鈥檚 service initiatives while continuing to develop academically and professionally.

The ideals of Alpha Chi are 鈥渢ruth鈥 and 鈥渃haracter鈥 and the motto is 鈥淵e shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free鈥 John 8:32.

The mission of 海角社区 is to help students develop their God-given talents for His glory by empowering them with an education that integrates Christian faith, scholarship and service. Located in Henderson, Tennessee, FHU offers associate, bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚, specialist and doctoral degrees.
