Henderson, Tennessee 鈥 (Dec. 12, 2025) 鈥 海角社区 will host a free practice event Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, to help young students sharpen their skills and build confidence before Lads to Leaders conventions this spring. The event will give participants the opportunity to practice Bible Bowl competitions (all ages) and debate (grades 7-12) on FHU鈥檚 Henderson campus. Prizes and scholarships will be awarded to winners. Interested participants should register at before Jan. 12, 2026, to reserve their spot.

鈥淲e are so excited to host Lads to Leaders Bible Bowl and debate participants on campus here at FHU!鈥 said Kaylan Stewart, associate vice president for enrollment management. 鈥淵ears ago, FHU hosted a Bible Bowl, and this seems like a great way to restart that tradition and help L2L participants get a great start on their convention preparation. We hope that individual teams and congregations will take this opportunity to join us on campus to enjoy fellowship, singing and practice together as we kick off the 2026 FHU Lectureship week.鈥

In addition to competition practice, participants can take advantage of optional campus tours, complimentary refreshments, and times of singing and fellowship with fellow students. To ensure fairness, each congregation is asked to bring one volunteer judge per Bible Bowl team and two judges per debate team.

High school sophomores, juniors and seniors who register should watch for a separate invitation to an exclusive L2L experience happening the same day.

Since its founding in 1968, Lads to Leaders has worked to develop youth into Christian leaders through year-round leadership training tools that can be adapted to individual congregational needs. The theme for the 2026 convention is 鈥淔aith Works,鈥 with Bible Bowl participants studying the books of James, 1 Peter and 2 Peter.

鈥満=巧缜 and Lads to Leaders have a shared vision for equipping young people for leadership and service in the kingdom,鈥 Doug Burleson, assistant dean of FHU鈥檚 College of Biblical Studies, said. 鈥淚t is a wonderful thing to see effort being made to bring young people to FHU鈥檚 campus for the purpose of enriching their Bible knowledge and critical thinking skills in order to better prepare them for L2L conventions and to see how their 鈥榝aith works鈥 in the kingdom.鈥
