Nursing Application Process

Only completed applications will be reviewed for selection. All forms, documents and information become property of º£½ÇÉçÇøâ€™s Department of Nursing and will not be returned, copied or released.

All items are due by May 1, 2026.

Selection letters will be mailed on or around June 1, 2026.

The number of students who can be admitted into the Nursing program may be limited. Therefore, a screening procedure will be used to select the best qualified from those who request consideration. Preference will be given to currently enrolled FHU students in good standing.

Nursing Program Acceptance Criteria

To be accepted into the Nursing program, a student must have completed the following courses, GPA and TEAS benchmarks, and the additional required items identified in the Nursing Application Process:

BIO211 Human Anatomy & Physiology I with lab (4hrs)** HEA121 Principles of Nutrition (3hrs)
BIO212 Human Anatomy & Physiology II with lab (4hrs)** MAT101 College Algebra (3hrs)
BIO215 Microbiology with lab (4hrs)** MAT235 Introductory Statistics (3hrs)
BIO318 Pathophysiology (3hrs) PSY310 Developmental Psychology (3hrs)
Less than twelve (12) hours of Liberal Arts Core courses remaining, excluding Bible.
**Online course/lab format is not recommended
GPA and TEAS Benchmarks
Overall College GPA: 2.80 or higher
Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

  • Overall score of Proficient or higher AND
  • Science score of 52.1% or higher
Science GPA of 2.50 or higher

  • BIO211, 212, 215, 318
  • No science grade of less than a C is accepted (D, F, or W for other than medical reasons).
  • May only repeat one science course, one time.
