As automation handles more technical tasks, professionals who understand the human side of planning, such as relationship-building, empathy, and client decision-making, are becoming increasingly valuable.

CFP® certification is the premier credential for financial planners, built on four rigorous requirements: Education, Examination, Experience, and Ethics. It signals to employers and clients that you meet a gold standard of competence and integrity.

CFP® professionals earn a median total compensation of $185,000, 13% more than planners without the designation. Because FHU is a CFP Board Registered Program, our degree satisfies the Education requirement, making you eligible to sit for the CFP® exam upon graduation.

Industry professionals regularly visit classes and Student Financial Planning Association events, providing insight into day-to-day professional life and valuable networking opportunities. Students can gain real-world experience through professional internships and coursework that emphasize hands-on, practical learning. They can also earn experience hours toward CFP® certification while in school, getting them closer to earning the credential after they graduate.

Faculty actively maintain relationships with alumni and employers to connect students to internships and job opportunities. While students are responsible for securing their own positions, we support students throughout the process with guidance on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and interview preparation.
